A renowned Ukrainian singer and songwriter, Maryna Krut, more famous as KRUTЬ, is a virtuoso of the bandura, a stringed instrument unique to Ukraine that looks and sounds like a lute and harp hybrid, resulting in a harpsichord-like effect that is both delicate and assertive. She is the sole innovator of bandura in the soul genre.
