Ragapop is a Ukrainian experimental electronic band formed by Ruslana Hazipova and Anna Nikitina of Dakh Daughters and musician Anton Ocheretyan in late 2018.
The idea of the band is to combine the things that each of the participants loves into a single mixture of performing arts and music. In this sound, Ragapop successfully balances between theatricality, post- punk aesthetics and lo-fi electronics while celebrating Ukranian heritage, poetry, and a sense of identity that manifests through performance. The lyrics are from the works of Ukrainian Philosopher, Ivan Franko.
As Ukraine confronts a struggle for survival the role of artists to keep the flame of culture lit will be more vital than ever.
