Nova Ruth is a female singer-songwriter, environmental activist, emcee, cultural-focused cafe owner (Legipait) and founder of the first artivists non-profit organisation, Lintas Batas. The diversity of her family led her to sing in the church, learn how to recite the Quran and at the same time play gamelan and sing Javanese pentatonics.

Her first rap lyrics about air pollution were written on a bus during her music journey with duo-female rap group, Twin Sista (2000-2005). Since then, she has never stopped being one of the amplified sounds of Mother Earth. During the Arab Spring, she began actively collaborating with Filastine, and together they created an art, culture and environmental project, Arka Kinari, a working 70-ton sailing ship.
