Simon Mejia aka Monte will talk about his new record "Mirla" which will be released September 18th.

Monte was recently announced with the "Mirla" music video - watch it at The FADER. It is an ambient electronic music project in which Simon furthers his exploration of Colombian nature sounds. The melody on Bomba's biggest hit "To My Love," which now has more than 750 million streams, was actually inspired by a bird call often heard on the Caribbean coast.

In recent travels across Colombia, Simon has recorded the sounds from the Amazon jungle to the birds along the Magdalena River. He explains, “I started to listen to them and imagine how to interpret them in an electronic language—which animals sound like a high hat, which ones sound like bass drums, which ones sing the melodies."
