SAMA IS proud to partner with Town Hall/Global Rhythms to present a rare set of Sevdah (Balkan Blues) from on of the PNW’s premier Bands, Kultur Shock.

Gypsy punk metal group, Kultur Shock, was founded by vocalist Srdjan “Gino” Yevdjevic in 1996. Yevdjevic moved from war torn Sarajevo to the United States in the 1990s, and while the group now calls Seattle home, Kultur Shock has a loyal following in Eastern Europe and is currently touring for their 25th anniversary. After a hiatus during COVID, they recently completed a successful tour of Europe and the Balkan countries in July, 2022.

This special concert will feature a new Town Hall experience called Global Atmosphere. This pre-event shindig will begin at 6pm and feature Baked in Bosnia, a local food vendor crafting delightful Balkan-inspired dishes alongside a specialty cocktail, and projected videos on screens in the lobby featuring the band and their music.

Kultur Shock is hugely influential to a whole genre of rock music that combines experimentalism with heart pounding punk rock. With sounds reminiscent of Gogol Bordello, System of a Down, Dubioza Kolektiv, Manu Chao, The Pogues, and Gang of Four, Kultur Shock continues to bend genres and mix international sounds full of energy, irreverence, lyricism, and, yes, punk metal.
