Ladysmith Black Mambazo is a legendary South African vocal group renowned for their isicathamiya style—a traditional form of Zulu a cappella singing. Formed in the early 1960s by Joseph Shabalala, the ensemble quickly gained popularity for their smooth, layered harmonies and gentle, rhythmic choreography. Their big international break came in the mid-1980s when they collaborated with Paul Simon on his groundbreaking album Graceland, an experience that propelled them into the global spotlight.

Since then, Ladysmith Black Mambazo has become a cultural ambassador for South Africa, carrying messages of hope, peace, and unity through their music. Over the years, they've earned multiple Grammy Awards and performed worldwide, captivating audiences with their distinctive vocal blend, rich in both tradition and innovation.

On February 25, 2025, they’re set to perform at the Neptune Theater in Seattle, offering a rare opportunity to experience their uplifting sound live.
