Rumba DB: Congolese Rumba & Soukous

Rumba DB is a new collective of Congolese musicians based out of the Seattle, WA area.

The members of the group are:

Dodo Los Manoka on solo guitar,

Laurent Kadogo on bass guitar

Hussein Kalonji on rhythm guitar

Paul-Franklin Okomba on mi-solo guitar

Alain Luki - Vocals

Jim Schaefer on congas,

Edo “Dollars'' Mbongo on vocals

Azor Mbombo on vocals

Each of the band members has been involved in the international Congolese music scene for many years and have played with several great Congolese artists, such as Koffi Olomide, Mbilia Bel, Madilu System, Zaiko Langa Langa, Lutumba Simaro, Pepe Kalle, Tabu ley & Africa International and many more. 

The style of music that Rumba DB plays is called Rumba Soukous music. This is a Congolese style of music, which has become a Pan African sound and is celebrated all over Africa and the world.
